Flint competed in his first Labrador National Event in May 2004. Although the second youngest dog (by three days) in his class of Intermediate Dog, he was awarded 5th place out of a total of 22 entries. In her critique Judge Ms Anya Verbeek of The Netherlands said "Black boy, full of quality with a very nice head and expression, nice top line, good tail set, good angulation in front, would prefer a little bit more rear angulation, nice developed body, good bone and feet, moved well, lovely character."

In his first show, the 2007 Perth Royal Show, under Finnish judge, Mrs Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonem, Devil won Best Baby Puppy in the Gundog Group at just 3 months of age.
Placing 2nd in Junior Dog at the 5th Labrador Retriever National, Swedish Judge, Anna Geschwindt Hartwig said:
"Excellent masculine dog. Lovely head and expression. Good reach of neck. Well angulated. Good bone, good spring of rib, bit long in loin. Moved well."
